MODEL UN AND CREATIVE WRITING CLUB will be selling 2 Guy's Pizza today, Friday, December 13th.  

TERRIERFEST! You have worked hard all semester and we want to reward you for that hard work! Today is TerrierFest! Classes will be called down by announcement to the gym for an hour of fun.  2nd hour Freshmen, 3rd hour Sophomores, 5th hour Juniors, and 6th hour Seniors. Thank you for following the Terrier Traits during the first semester. 

SPRING MUSICAL: If you auditioned for the spring musical, Anne of Green Gables, be sure to check your email and respond over the weekend! This afternoon, immediately after school, the cast list will be posted outside of both Ms. Polczynski’s room (C211) and Mrs. Browning’s room (B110). Once you accept your role, we’ll have a brief meeting on Monday, December 16th, after school. We’re so excited to begin this show with you! 

SCIENCE JAM:  Study jam for Science final exams will be this coming Monday, December 16th from 3-5 p.m. in room D201. Sponsored by the Science Club.  Food, science teachers and plenty of individual help. 

POETRY SLAM:  There will be a mandatory Poetry Slam meeting on Monday, December 16th from 3:00 to 4:00 p.m. in the auditorium. All participants MUST be present whether you have your material or NOT.

ACT-SO:  Ms. Esters will meet with our interested ACT-SO group, after school @ 3:00 on Tuesday, December 17th, in the cafeteria. 

LOST AND FOUND:  Students, please check Officer Dillow’s office for items you may have lost this semester. There are numerous coats, shoes, books, etc!  At the end of the semester, all items not claimed will be donated to a local charity.

EXTRA BLEACHER BUM SHIRTS AND BRACELETS are available for purchase in the student activities office for $10 before or after school.  Joining Bleacher Bums will get your entry into all home winter sporting events for free.

DIAL YEARBOOK: Only 7 days remain to purchase a 2020 DIAL Yearbook at the first semester price of $60.  Go to www.balfour.com or stop by the yearbook office to place an order.

BASKETBALL GAME: Tomorrow night's home basketball game against Cahokia is Ugly Sweater Night. JV starts at 6:15 pm and Varsity at 7:30 pm.  The best ugly sweater will win a $10 Amazon gift card.

EXTRA BLEACHER BUM SHIRTS are available for purchase in the Student Activities Office for $10 before or after school.

ATTENTION: Any students attending tonight’s Basketball Game must be out of the Gym and Gym Foyer Area 30 minutes after the conclusion of the games. Make sure your rides are here to pick you up. We will be closing down the Gym at the time for clean-up.   Also, we will be shutting down the gym after school today for setup for tonight’s game.  The gym will need to be cleared out.  Admission for the Freshmen game will be at 4:30pm. Thank you in advance for your cooperation.

TONIGHT'S HOME BOYS’ BASKETBALL GAME against Cahokia is Ugly Sweater Night.  The first 100 Bleacher Bums will receive a Santa hat at the game.  The best dressed Bleacher Bum will receive a $10 Amazon gift card. Please wear your Bleacher Bum shirt or bracelet to gain free entry into the game.  Let's pack the stands.

WORLD LANGUAGES HONORS APPLICATIONS are now available from all World Language teachers. They are also available on the bulletin board in the World Language Hallway. These are due to your teacher or Mr. Taylor by January 17, 2020.

THE ENGLISH DEPARTMENT will begin taking applications for Honors English 2, 3, and 4 after winter break. If you are interested in applying to be in Honors English, please pick up an application from your English teacher.  The deadlines for submission are as follows:  To be Seniors -January 10th. To be Juniors - January 17th.  To be Sophomores – February 28th.

SENIORS: Need help or have a question about completing the FAFSA? Visit the Counseling Office today! Check your email for more details. All college-bound seniors are encouraged to complete the FAFSA.

CREATIVE WRITING CLUB: Quill magazine is looking for students to submit poetry, short stories, artwork, photography, and all things creative. Submit your work to cchsquill@gmail.com by January 10th to be published in Quill magazine. Please see Ms. Bachman in C213 for any questions regarding Quill.

JUNIORS:  Thank you for your participation in the Prom Theme Poll.  The theme for Prom will be “A Night in Paris” Prom will be held on April 25th at the Civic Center.  Please stay tuned for more information on Prom in the coming months.

DON'T FORGET ABOUT TERRIER TUTORING! Terrier Tutoring is your secret weapon in getting the best grades in your classes. We are open 3:15 to 4:45 pm on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays in rooms B202 and B204 in the Media Center. We are ready to help you in math, science, and English!

MEDIA CENTER:  After school hours are M-TH 3:00 - 5:30 and F 3:00 - 4:00.

SENIORS:  Be sure to check your email for a link to the 2020 General Scholarship Application.  It was sent to every senior on December 4th and 6th.  Every college bound senior should complete this application for a chance to win a local scholarship to help with college expenses.  You can also check Naviance at your convenience for available local and national scholarships.  

Class of 2022: HOBY, the Hugh O'Brian Youth Leadership State Seminar, will be accepting registration from parents seeking HOBY experience for their children beginning in January of 2020. HOBY’s mission is to inspire and develop our global community of youth and volunteers to a life dedicated to leadership, service and innovation. HOBY programs provide youth to participate in unique leadership training, service-learning and motivation-building experiences. This seminar is 3-4 days of fun, interactive leadership training, meeting state leaders, and making new friends (Dates: 6/18/2019-6/21/2019 at Illinois Wesleyan University).
