Mandy is a proud 1992 graduate of Carbondale Community High School, where she now serves as the Special Education Director. She earned both her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Social Work from Southern Illinois University and later completed her school administration coursework, which prepared her for leadership roles in education. Mandy is also a Licensed Clinical Social Worker.
She began her career at CCHS in 2009 as an assistant principal before transitioning into her current role in 2012. Prior to her administrative work, Mandy spent many years as a social worker in both school and private practice settings, building a strong foundation in student advocacy and support.
In addition to her work as Special Education Director, Mandy serves as a Goal Co-Champion, where she helps guide efforts to promote a respectful, innovative, inclusive, and supportive school environment. She is dedicated to re-imagining opportunities that advance student life skills, address social-emotional needs, and strengthen student behavior and attendance.
