Ms. Gwen Poore

Gwen Poore has been a proud member of the CCHS Terrier community since 2001, when she was hired to teach Business and coach volleyball and track. After a brief time away, she returned to CCHS as an administrator in the Attendance Office. In 2020, Ms. Poore assumed the role of Carbondale Community High School Athletic Director, a position she had previously held at Anoka High School in Anoka, Minnesota.

Passionate about sports and their benefits to students, Ms. Poore believes that academic-based athletics are an essential part of the high school experience. Under her leadership, CCHS student-athletes excel both in the classroom and on the field. Dedicated to collaboration with the community, she works tirelessly to provide quality programs and facilities that reflect Terrier pride. As the saying goes, "Once a Terrier, Always a Terrier."
