NCTERecently, Quill, the CCHS literary magazine, was selected to receive the rank of EXCELLENT in the 2017 NCTE Program to Recognize Excellence in Student Literary Magazines. The National Council of Teachers of English congratulated CCHS English teacher Bill Curtin and the students who produced Quill via e-mail and also sent an official certificate.

The mission of NCTE’s Program to Recognize Excellence in Student Literary Magazines (PRESLM) is to encourage all schools to develop literary magazines, inspiring excellence in writing and school-wide participation in production.

This award, and the fantastic magazine it recognizes, are a result of all of the hours of effort the students of CCHS put in to make it happen. Since the quality of writing is one of the primary qualifications, it is a testament to their writing talents as well.

The listing of all ranked magazines is available on the
NCTE website.
